the future of hijab? |
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu,
WARNING: THIS IS A LONG POST AND A DEDICATION TO ALL THE HIJABI BLOGGERS AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW THEM. ( IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY SINCERITY, WRITING STYLE, and HONESTY . PLEASE SEE THIS POST "please don't waste my time, or yours")
HIJAB IS NOT A FASHION STATEMENT. HIJAB IS NOT AN ACCESSORY TO YOUR OUTFIT OF THE DAY. HIJAB IS NOT MEANT TO BE SEXY. HIJAB IS NOT A STATUS OF WEALTH. HIJAB IS NOT WEARING MAKEUP AND SMELLING ALLURING. HIJAB IS NOT SOMETHING YOU BEAUTIFY FOR NON-MAHRAMS.
HIJAB STARTS WITH FEARING ALLAH AND LEARNING FROM THE QUR'AN AND SUNNAH about what exactly is the purpose of hijab. KNOW YOUR ROLE, and LEARN YOUR RELIGION.
Islam means to submit and surrender to the one TRUE Creator. Why are these hijabi bloggers distorting the proper way of HIJAB with their 2012 Lady Gaga fancified version of Islamic dress?
REMINDER : I KNOW MANY OF YOU RESPOND DEFENSIVELY AND THE FIRST THING THAT YOU BLURT IS " YOU DON'T KNOW ME, DON'T JUDGE ME". WELL HERE'S MY RESPONSE TO YOUR LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE: ALLAH WILL JUDGE YOU ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT FOR ALL THE SINS YOU SPREADED WITH YOUR BEAUTY. WE ARE NOT JUDGING YOU BUT MERELY WARNING YOU AS A SISTER IN ISLAM WHO FEARS ALLAH, YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME BEFORE YOU RETURN TO YOUR LORD WITH NO ANSWER AS TO WHY YOU ADVOCATED HIJAB AS A BEAUTY SYMBOL TO OTHER MUSLIMAHS.
Mu'adh bin Anas radiallahu anhu reported: Messenger of Allah Sallalahu aleyhi wasselam said, "Whoever gives up wearing elegant and expensive garments out of humbleness, when he can do so, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection and before all the creations, He will give him the choice to wear whichever garment of IMAN he would like to wear." (At-Tirmidhi, Chapter 120. #802 pg 666 Riyah us-Saliheen"excellence of giving up elegant clothes for HUMILITY")
It is reported that ‘Umar b. Al-Khattāb came out one Eid. Passing by a group of women, he could smell the scent of perfume from one of them. He asked, “Who is the one wearing this scent? By Allāh, if I knew who she was, I would do such-and-such (punish her). A women is only to wear perfume for her husband, and if she goes out, she wears her older (scruffier) clothes or the older clothes of her servant.” And so it was rumored amongst the women that the woman [who was wearing perfume in public] got up from that gathering having soiled herself (out of fear).

Source: http://www.sayingsofthesalaf.net/index.php/category/manners-and-conduct/#ixzz2DHrh7WWBTo proceed,
I am a revert, a Muslimah, a Chinese Canadian who is fighting with my self on a daily basis. Struggling to be the best Muslimah for my Creator. I owe it to Him.
I left my fashion flaunting wonderland for this beautiful religion, Islam. Islam is a religion that promotes everything that is good and forbids all that is evil. Islam emphasizes the importance of MODESTY. Allah has created this religion for mankind for one reason, and one reason alone. It is to WORSHIP HIM, SUBMIT COMPLETELY TO HIM, AND SURRENDER ALL YOUR PERSONAL DESIRES AND TURN TO HIM AND HIM ALONE.
But something is terribly wrong, and I am almost ashamed. I am embarrassed at the amount of Muslimahs in today's society who are giving the Qur'an and Sunnah a bad image. An image which mocks piety, imitates the non-Muslims, and steps beyond the limits of modesty in Islam. I left my fashion-partying-modelling lifestyle in hopes to meet modestly dressed sisters who didn't give into society's distorted image on beauty. But lately, all I see is hijab being misrepresented, misinterpreted, and misused. What has happened to the hijabi ummah of today? This is a disgrace and it is SHAMEFUL. Not only are you disrespecting yourself and offending other Muslimahs, but you are first and foremost disrespecting the Qur'an and Sunnah WHICH MEANS that you are, yes that's right, disrespecting Allah subhanhu wa ta'ala.
Allāh Says:
The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allāh (His Words, the Quran) and His Messenger (Sallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam), to judge between them, is that they say: "We hear and we obey." And such are the successful (who will live forever in Paradise). And whosoever obeys Allāh and His Messenger (Sallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam), fears Allāh, and keeps his duty (to Him), such are the successful ones.
[An-Nur, 24: 51-52]
So hijabi bloggers, do you hear and do you obey?

The amount of hijab blogs listed on google is on the rise. Each day you will see a Muslimah enter into the blogging world trying to surpass the gazillion "Muslimah fashion" blogs out there. Now there is nothing wrong with owning a hijab blog, in fact I highly recommend it BUT......*KEY WORD* BUT, there are some serious limitations and guidelines that we all need to check ourselves with before we start advocating what "hijab" is to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
This has become a problem that needs to constantly be addressed.
It seems these days, many hijabi bloggers incorporate the word "trend", "fashion" , and "beauty" in MANY if not ALL of their blog posts and including pictures of themselves with decked out faces full of makeup and styles too hot to handle on the runway! I really don't understand their mission statement " being modest yet adhering to the rules of Islam" .... Non-Muslims paint their faces like a blank canvas with glitter pens and magic markers, since when did Islam make the haram, halal?
I never knew that the word "hijab" meant "high profile fashionista". Modesty in Islam has become distorted amongst many Muslimahs today, especially the youth and I blame it on all these hijabi blog sites. I am unsure as to what separates their blogs from non-Muslim fashion bloggers except for a piece of cloth shaped like what seems to be a turban, wrapped around their heads astughfurAllah. Must I remind you, the way you promote hijab on your blogs, is unacceptable, immodest, and just plain WRONG!? The saddest part of this whole thing is the amount of blind followers you are receiving.
Your are not helping them out except teaching them everything except what's in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Could you just imagine the heavy weight you are carrying ? It's one thing to be ignorant and not knowing that what you're blogging about is haram, but it is another thing to be COMPLETELY AWARE of what you are blogging about, and not ACCEPT ANY KIND OF CRITICISM from other sisters who are warning you for the sake of Allah. Arrogance and being defensive are signs that you know the truth yet you STILL choose to turn away from it (Please study tafsir of Surah Al-Fatiha). So I suggest you hijabi bloggers, please revisit the Qur'an and Sunnah with a clear, open mind and burn your magazines and delete your fashion bookmarks on your computer. Read about what TRUE MODESTY really is by Sheikh Albani, Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah, & Sheikh Uthaimeen (just to name a few) and don't go on believing what Dubai hijab week or Abu Dhabi fashion week has to say because they HAVE NO CLUE what modesty is!!! If you think the only way you can attract attention to yourselves is by hosting a blog that is unIslamic and promotes beauty and fashion then you need to clean up your intentions and shut down your blog , go on a retreat and educate yourself on Islam and Modesty.
Surely we are in 2012, but that does not mean to hijabify your hijab to acquire to today's era, if you would stop being naive for one minute, and realise just how much fitnah is out there today. Perhaps you should also educate yourself on what the word "fitnah" means and what the ramifications are in result to partaking in it.
May Allah guide all those hijabi bloggers and teach them the correct understanding of what TRUE modesty is so that they can revamp their blogs into the proper Islamic hijab. Ameen
Please, in no way am I being harsh, my sensitive diva's, but I am simply stating the truth from what my own two eyes see. Many people say "well you don't know what their intentions are", again, I would like to remind you that intentions are displayed through actions and actions are governed by intentions. [Ibn Qayyim says : Intention is like the soul, and actions like the body: if the soul leaves the body, the body dies.]
When there is a problem, we need to fix it, especially if I see the Sunnah of the Prophet sallalahu aleyhi wasselam slowly being eaten up by sisters who are too busy satisfying their own nafs and tossing the commands of Allah to the side. HAVE YOU NO SENSE O' MUSLIMAHS? What is so special about the Western culture that you have to adopt their ways ? You want to imitate the oppressed women who are controlled by what the society dictates as "sexy" and "trendy"?
You might as well wear a wig and call it hijab
What has Islam become ? Memorizing what is on page 12 of the November issue of Vogue or memorizing the verses about modesty in the Qur'an?
Firstly, I recommend any newbie who wants to LEARN how to wear the hijab PROPERLY, to google "the meaning of hijab" or, just read below.
“Hijab” in Arabic. If we look at the meaning of the word “Hijab” in the dictionary we learn that the word means “veil”, “screen”, “cover(ing)” or “curtain” (see Al Mawrid: A Modern Arabic English Dictionary, 1992 p. 453).
NOWHERE in the Arabic language or even Wikipedia does it state that "hijab" means : to advertise and promote sexy kitten heels, skinny jeans, hip hugging maxi dresses, Bobbi Brown makeup, fake lashes, and MAC lip gloss.
Secondly, What is the point of the Hijab?
Well, Allah Subhanahu Wa ta'la CLEARLY mentions:
In Surah An-Nur , the VERY FIRST AYAH :
‘[This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember.’ (24:1)
We find the following verse in the SAME SURAH (Chapter) of the Qur'an so therefore it means that THIS following verse is OBLIGATORY and we must act upon it, if we believe in Allah and His messenger (sallahu aleyhi wasselam). I encourage everyone to please click on the link and read the tafsir of ayah 31.
“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31). (for more information, see TAFSIR by IBN KATHIR)
I am no Scholar in tafsir, or a scholar in any matter, but the verse is CLEAR for anybody who knows how to read and again, please
May I also mention, when you say " Allah loves all things beautiful , so we should make beautify ourselves" ....*HUH?* Is that what this verse means? Because women are created beautiful we should beautify ourselves for the creation? PLEASE REVIEW THIS VERSE CAREFULLY. Again, this verse is CLEAR , if you can read.
Guarding our modesty does not mean having a full fledged photo shoot of ourselves decked in H&M or Forever 21's latest trends posing like we are some starving model which is only what the disbelievers do! {"whoever imitates a people, he is one of them."(ahmad, aboo dawood, hasan hadith, authenticated by al-albani in sahih jami` us-sagheer 6025}
As well, we are told NOT to display our beauty or ornaments except what is apparent. I didn't know earrings and glitzy glam-jam jewellery was considered "apparent" parts of women's bodies. Does that also include juicy tube lip glosses and bronzer with blush enhancing our cheek bones?
Has veiling become tight jersey tees that cup the bosom and long maxi dresses that cinch at the waist? I had no idea that high heels underneath the abaya was considered an APPARENT part of the female body?!
Am I missing something? How is it that some Muslimahs are more stylish than some of the top fashion stylists of today? There is something wrong with this.
Can someone please provide aHadith or verses from the Qur'an that show me and the rest of the Muslimahs that it is indeed ok to do what most of the hijabi fashionista queens are sporting today?
As well, please provide proof that it is permissible to modify your hijab similarly to the likes of modified racing cars with leather interior, metal skirts, 20' inch rims, and a full body paint job.
THIRDLY, The Hijabis of today:
We are already warned about the severity of broadcasting our adornments to the entire non-mahram nation. In case we forgot, here is a reminder in bold, italicized, & bright colours :
"In later (generations) of my ummah there will be women who will be dressed but naked. On top of their heads (what looks) like camel humps. They will not enter into paradise or (even) get a smell of it." (Muslim)
Allāh’s Messenger (Sallallāhu `alayhi wasallam) said:
“The best of your women are the affectionate, the fertile, the comforting, and the agreeable – if they fear Allāh. The most evil of your women are those who expose and display themselves, and those who strut (to show off), and they are the hypocrites. Those who enter Paradise are like the red beaked crow.”[Recorded by Al-Baihaqi]
“Any woman who puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.” (al-Nasaa’i, Tirmidhi: hasan by Albaani)
Hijab is a symbol of your worship and submission to Allāh.
So dear sensitive glamazons, when you are wearing :
- a fashion forward turban on your head
- foundation, bronzer, blush and the whole nine yards
-high heels
- kitten heels that go "click clack clack"
-perfume
- form fitting maxi dresses
- hip hugging, boobie cupping abayas
- fake lashes
- fake nails
- the entire Tiffany's collection on your arms
- the camel hump
- metallic eye shadow
- sticky icky shiny lip gloss
- fishnet
- men's attire
-boyfriend jeans
and anything else that you think is fashionable ....
Remember that Islam and "FASHION", "TREND", "STYLISH" DO NOT GO TOGETHER!

I left the fashion world for a reason. Why are so many sisters trying to imitate the kuffar? Advice, stop watching television, listening to music and spending your money on fashion magazines. It might do you some good yeah?
Please sisters, do yourself a favour and DO NOT imitate all those fashion hijabi bloggers you see in the online world. This is NOT the correct hijab. DO NOT become one of their followers. Follow the Qur'an and Sunnah. Giving into your desires and the temptations of this world is NOT an option. I've been there, done that and look where I ended up? Alhamdulilah I am Muslim. I chose to give up the fashion world for the world of modesty which makes me feel way more beautiful than the next fashion model. Modesty is unique, but every other fashionista is just a try-hard struggling to fit into this world because they don't have their own identity.
Your identity is a Muslimah, so use it and wear it proud because come The Day of Judgement, those hijabi bloggers will not intercede on your behalf. The Day of Judgement, those very same hijabi bloggers will be running away from you and saying they don't want anything to do with you. NOBODY will be your friend. Remember that.
again, It seems i have to ALWAYS add this at the end of to ANY kind of opinionated posts I write : IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY SINCERITY, WRITING STYLE, and HONESTY . PLEASE SEE THIS POST "MY BLOG, IS THERE A PROBLEM?"
Disclaimer: If I offended any of you I apologize in advance my dear sisters. Being harsh and offending you is far from my intentions and Allah knows best. I am trying to spread the truth a day at a time and Islam is the perfect religion. When I see it being man-handled and toyed with, I WILL SPEAK UP. My specialty is HONESTY & TRUTHFULNESS. I like candy, but I don't sugar coat my words. I tell it how it is. If you don't like it, then the "unfollow" button is readily available at your right hand side !
May Allah continue to guide us all on His straight upright path, and may He grant us taufiq to revive the Sunnah a day at a time. Ameen

Salam alayki wa rahmatullah, MashaAllah good post.
ReplyDeleteAn sensitive issue for some but true all the same. May Allah make all of our weaknesses easy for us to overcome and combat fisabillah.
walaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu,
DeleteAmeen ya Rabb. thank you sis for your positive feedback! xox
Assalamu Aleikum wa Rahmatullah he Barakatu,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you about everything, and I am always thinking the same thing when I see hijabis on Youtube who will just show their necks and their faces are caked with makeup--that is not true hijab! However, we do not know their intentions and Allah SWT is of course the best judge.
Its especially heartbreaking for people like me, who are forbidden from wearing the hijab, to see people who are taking for granted their blessing to be able wear it.
However, I do really appreciate hijabis who do try and help others wear hijab, and who wear real hijabs, and modestly cover the rest of their body.

Deleteyes sis it is very sad these days what the hijab has turned into. Allah knows their intentions, perhaps they are ignorant and do not know the proper way of hijab and i hope they will come across this post so they may learn about the CORRECT hijab insha'Allah. But as Ibn Qayyim says, intentions go hand in hand with the actions so from what is apparent, we can only see that the hijab is being abused and misinterpreted and misrepresented. I pray that the youth will be able to speak out and spread the right hijab as you are the key to the future . May Allah make it easy for you to wear hijab soon my little sissy pie ! I will make duaa for you insha'Allah!

thanks always for your feedback and opinions i truly appreciate it

MasyaAllah! That was direct, and seeing the rise of fashion hijab, this post is highly needed. I am going to share this with other sisters. As for me, I am living in an Islamic Country, but ironically the fashion hijab or incomplete hijab is more acceptable, than those who fully cover themselves. Some muslimah actually said to my face that she is scared of me, a niqabi. Our muslimah's perceptions of hijab has completely changed, all thanks to the media who advocate the hijab fashion.. and those "don't judge me" sisters. :( :(
ReplyDeleteAlhamdulillah. Jazakillah Khairan katheera for the reminder ukht. As our eeman rise and fall, this is needed. :):)
assalamualaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu dearest sister!
DeleteSO TRUE . our ummah has become sooo westernized and ANY woman who adopts the PROPER QUR'AN AND SUNNAH of ISLAM is looked at as an oddball who is an extremist. Subhana'Allah what the world is coming to these days? It's just sad and depressing and the saddest thing is that when you confront these sisters in a nice manner, they say " DON'T JUDGE ME" and they get all defensive.
Well, i'd like to tell those sisters . ALLAH WILL JUDGE YOU ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT FOR ALL THE SINS YOU SPREADED WITH YOUR BEAUTY. WE ARE NOT JUDGING YOU BUT MERELY WARNING YOU AS A SISTER IN ISLAM WHO FEARS ALLAH, YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME BEFORE YOU RETURN TO YOUR LORD WITH NO ANSWER AS TO WHY YOU ADVOCATED HIJAB AS A BEAUTY SYMBOL TO OTHER MUSLIMAHS.
xo. thank you for your support dear sis xoxoxooxxooxox may Allah bless us all with righteousness in this Ummah and may we be amongst the righteous in the akhirah AMEEN.
As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu sis!
ReplyDeleteI SO love you for the sake of Allah!!! This is hands down your best post to date masha Allah!!! I mean it!! I have so many quotes I want to take from this!!! Love the sarcastic humor, lol! I absolutely love it!!! In fact, I love it so much, I'm reposting this and sharing!! :D :D
You know, when they immediately say "don't judge me" and "you don't know what's in my heart", it actually baffles me. I mean, isn't it a rather stupid statement? How can anyone know what is in another person's heart? We're not mind-readers or emotion-readers or any of those x-men people in the sci-fi movies.
We are not commanded by Allah and His Messenger - salla Allaahu alayhi wa sallam to look into the hearts of the people. We cannot do that. That is Allah's job. What we are commanded to do is look at the actions of our fellow Muslims and offer sincere naseeha to correct any mistakes we see bi'thnillah. Eeman is not merely in the heart, it has to be affirmed with actions.
Here's a response to anyone who gets offended by this post :)
Prophet – salla Allaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“Verily the most detested speech to Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, is that a man says to another man ‘fear Allaah,’ so the (other) man says: ‘Leave me alone!‘”
[In another narration, he says: "Worry about your own self." Al-Albaanee authenticated it in Silsilatul-Ahaadeethis-Saheehah (2598).]
May Allah increase you in guidance and raise your rank in the akhirah sis! <3 <3
walaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu my parchi pie!!!!

Assalamu Alaikum sis, a post every single blogger, Hijabi or not, should read! This is something that should be addressed seriously and I'm glad you've put it up on your blog.
ReplyDeleteI do hope a few Hijab-fashion blogs would either re-asses their blog and make it something
'Islamic" or like you said, close down their blog altogether.
walaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu sister!!!!
Deletethanks for your encouragement! please make duaa for me that Allah accepts my posts for His sake and His sake alone!!!

Salaam alaikom sister. I am not of the hijab fashionistas really (I just wear an abaya, nothing fancy) but I think you are right. This post has inspired me to seek forgiveness for a few things from Allah so jazakallah khair:)
ReplyDeletewalaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu dearest sis!!
Deletei'm so happy that it spoke to you in a positive way! may Allah forgive you and grant you His mercy and keep you steadfast and upright and increase u in iman and haya each and every day AMEEN!!!
Assalamu Alaykum waRahmatullahi waBarakatuh sis,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that some Muslimahs are exposing themselves quiet a lot, it's either extreme exposition or not, it is true we cannot judge a single person for her intentions, Allahu Alam, Allah always knows whats in the hearts of mankind. However, for the love of Allah it is always our duty to advice each other for the best especially because she is our sister in Islam. I believe Hijab should be part of every Muslim women's personality, her sensitive soul is in need of such protection but some Muslim women don't know the true meaning of Hijab. Some women are afraid to sacrifice what truly destroys her even if she dislikes it. It is all to do with faith. She must understand what is true modesty. It is one of the signs of the end that women would start to look naked even if they wore cloths, Society has attacked the modesty of women and it is up to her to be a humble and true servant of Allah. It is her Jihad.
Jazakallah khair for sharing.
Fee Amanillah.
Asalam Alaykum mashAllah this was a really good post and so very true. I have never understand why hijabis try to make being modest cool which is just the opposite of the point. Great post keep it up mashAllah..
ReplyDeleteWalaikumassalam wa Rahmatulahi wa baraakatu dear sis!
DeleteMasha'Allah thank you for stopping by and enjoying my post!!! I do hope to see more of your comments as I am a big fan of Ya Salam masha'Allah! love your cooking!

Khadijah!
Salams!
ReplyDeleteI had written out this whole long comment and it got deleted. SO the jist of it was:
Thank you for writing this and reminding us fashion bloggers about what's really important. I do my best to keep it real and keep it modest on my blog. I often write about trends and fashion relating to hijab, but my point is that you can wear a super trendy fashionable outfit to a wedding, but wear an abaya and a niqab until you get to the all-female room. Wearing clothes that cover your `aura in front of other women while still looking great is perfectly ok! I might post about a lowcut dress or a knee-length skirt but that's up to the person reading about it where to wear it. Personally, I would only wear something like that to an all women party. JazakAllahu Khairan :)

walaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu dear sister,
Deletemasha'Allah . thank you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to read and reflect. May Allah reward you for your open mindedness and insha'Allah the sisters who read your blog and follow will understand that you are only advertising for WOMEN ONLY events and these items are NOT to be worn out of the house. Your put in another whole different world where fashion is da least of ur worries!
Anyway,,,thanks again...May Allah strengthen your imaan to even greater heights and grant u jannatul firdaus,,,

Deleteand no i am not heaven sent astughfurALLAH!!!! WATCH UR WORDS SIS!!! lol
Asalaam alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh..!!!!
ReplyDeleteBaakah ALLAHU fyk habibty for this post.. Alot of muslimahs fall prey to these hijabi trends (me included). It is true we have lost the true definition of the word HIJAB and it is true more and more muslimahs creating hijabi blogs. We really need to go back to the Qur'an and Sunnah and read what is required of us as muslimahs in terms of covering and dressing modestly.
I am a designer by profession and I used to design un-modest outfits before I found Islam, I have come to see that most women slave away in fashion trends, styles to a point where they lose their own identity and become defined but what the starved models parade in fashion shows. They don't only sacrifice their bodies but their souls too so that they are accepted in the hyena frenzy man defined world of fashion and beauty.
Alhamdulilah for the guidance from ALLAH, a Muslim women is more treasured, respected and protected that is why HE instructed us to adorn the HIJAB and here we go we want to let go off ALLAHs protection by falling prey to all these so called cool and fashionable hijab trends which are all just shaytans gimmicks in to recruiting accomplices for the fire of Jahanam (ALLAHUMA audhubika mindhali. AMIN)
We are the best Ummah because we enjoin the good and forbid the evil. ALLAH is witness that you have delivered the message and we will do our duty to share so as to create more awareness.
May ALLAH continue to guide us all on the straight path and lest us die not except in the state of Islam and until He is pleased with us. AMIN

As salamu alaikum ukhti, maa sha Allah, all your points are very true and may Allah guide those who see hijab as some kind of fashion statement. However, I think this post would benefit from the removal of these photos as they are unnecessarily showing uncovered women and this may cause more fitnah and also in general, it is best to avoid pictures of living beings in sha Allah. May Allah preserve you and keep you firm, ameen.
ReplyDeletewalaikumassalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu .
DeleteAmeen to your duaas.
so far there has been no fitnah. thank you for your opinion though.
jazakilah kheyr.
You are exceptionally rude and condensing when you talk to people. "Sensitive bunnies".. Who do you think you are? If you want people to listen to you I would suggest you don't post rude comments on their blogs. I really don't understand why you are acting so judgemental, especially for the "ex-party girl" that you are. No doubt you will not publish this!
ReplyDeleteassalamualaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu (let us not forget our manners)
Deleteohh dear sister, miskinah..poor thing.. may Allah guide you and all your followers and all the disgusting hijabi bloggers out there who distort hijab and follow their own desires and not Allah's word.
Listen, this post surprisingly by the will of Allah has helped many sisters..and too bad you aren't one of them. I have received many e-mails especially from ex- hijabi bloggers that have said how much this post put things into perspective. Alhamdulilah they have repented and have stopped their "stylish muslimah/hijabi ways".
May Allah guide you "sensitive bunny" because clearly you are very sensitive.. and its because i was an "ex party-girl" who was also a "fashion student" and "model" in my kafir days that i am entitled to write this.
All you "stylish muslimahs" think they can distort the image of "modesty" ...do you even know what modesty is? IT is sad and an epidemic that is sweeping the world like the plague . It breaks my heart to see sisters like you who skew the hijab and blend it in the blender and spit it out like its some sort of hot commodity. Shame on all of you.
Don't tell me what to do and even if I was polite to you, would you listen? probably not. Allah guides whom He wills. May He take you out of your darkness, and your followers too.
and no doubt I WILL publish this ;) have a great day and don't forget to read al-Khaf cuz it's Friday!
May Allah guide you and your ignorant followers and take you out of your blind world of fashion slavery! ameen!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteAS-SALAM ALAIKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKATUH SIS!!! I LOVE THIS POST MASHA'ALLAH!! I love that we have the same backgrounds and you help me so much with not being a hijabi blogger hehe!!When I first converted I always wanted the most beautiful clothes and scarves to draw more attention and to help my family from thinking I was so "dull" but alhumdulilah I was rightly guided and now I try to dress modestly and in sha Allah soon I will start wearing abaya full time!!! I FOR ONE AND I AM SURE I CAN SPEAK FOR MANY OTHER SISTERS, am so thankful for you and all your CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM (alhumdulilah I see it as that and I am not one who merely gets mad and goes against you and alhumdulilah I try to better myself for the sake of Allah and the Sunnah.) May Allah bless you a reward you my sweet dear sister :)

ReplyDeleteAssalamu Alaikum Wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatu.
ReplyDeleteI like te post especially because of the many hadiths and ayas of the Quran you added, you didn't just talked but you also wrote "proofs". I have to admit that you are right, all what you said is right, but as a girl who loves fashion ( understand this like I like to see the new trends and modify them to fit on a hijabi outfit, I'm not a fashion victim) this somehow will be hard to acomplish to fullest, for me.
I'm trying my best, for example I don't wear make up when I go out daily, just a few when I go out with my girl friends ( I knoow, I shouldn't, I know)
Anyway, I think that (without taking it to the limit, respecting the meanings of hijabs and what the sunnah and Quran says) there isn't any harm on trying to fit some of the fashion trends into a hijabi outfit, my view.
Salam.
Assalamu alaikum ya ukhty...
ReplyDeleteThis the first time for me reading a great written point of view supported with a lot of unquestionable ayas and hadiths.
I've learned many things from you, ukhty.
Thanks so much
