Hate to spoil it for some of you ...

Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatulahi wa Barakatu.

We often get into the iftar hype during Ramadan and have iftar gatherings in the local masjids, but this was not prescribed by the Salaf which means it was not done by Rasulullah (saw) UNLESS it was to gather and feed the poor and needy. Is your masjid doing this? If not, perhaps you should start a suggestions box so that our needy and poor brothers and sisters can break their fast as happily as we break our fasts.

After all, food is from Allah and not from ourselves, so it is the least we can do to share the rizq of Allah which He has blessed you with from His Mercy.
